En su relato histórico, sobre ‘Los Títulos de Propiedad de la Corona Española’, Constantino Lima enfatiza el número de años de invasión sufrida por Abya Yala (el continente americano) desde 1942: 523 años. Revela cómo el acaparamiento empezó con una bula papal del papa Alejandro VI y cómo las tierras fueron ‘compradas’ en nombre de Dios con títulos ejecutoriales a un precio insignificante.

Expresa su ira al ver que la demanda indemnizatoria presentada por los Pueblos Indígenas a las organizaciones internacionales en 1990, y las siguientes, fueron rechazadas. Explica que, en vez de los 42 conceptos definidos durante los estudios, se basaron solamente en 15. Constantino Lima cree que la demanda es justa y que no se pueden callar. Opina que los daños y perjuicios no se pueden quedar impune, que hay que pagar por ellos. Pide el levantamiento de la bula papal con fin de empezar un dialogo de reconciliación. Hace un llamamiento a los Indígenas de su país: «Y, a mis hijos, que son como 10 millones, en estos momentos, en el lugarcito que se llama Bolivia: tienen que seguir reclamando.»

In his historical account on “Land Titles and the Spanish Crown”, Constantino Lima stresses the number of years Abya Yala (the American continent) suffered from invasion, starting from 1492, which amounts to 523 years. He explains how the hoarding started with a papal bull issued by Pope Alexander VI and how the lands were ‘bought’ in the name of God with enforceable titles at a very low price.

He expresses his anger over the fact that the claim for damages that was presented by Indigenous Peoples to international organizations in 1990, as well as the subsequent ones, were all dismissed. He explains that instead of the 42 concepts that were defined during the studies, they only used 15 of them. Constantino Lima believes that the claim is fair and that they cannot remain silent. He thinks that damage cannot go unpunished, that the responsible must pay for such damage. He asks for the papal bull to be rescinded in order to engage into a dialogue of reconciliation. He calls on the Indigenous Peoples of his country: “And to my children, who are about 10 million, at this point, in the small country called Bolivia: you must keep claiming.”
