Dr. Albert K. Barume completed his PhD in international human rights law at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom and a Master degree in Environmental Management at Yale University in the United States of America. He is a world expert in indigenous peoples' rights, with over twenty years of work experience in human rights law at regional and international levels. He is currently the Chairperson of a seven-members United Nations Experts Mechanism of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP)
