Clément (Clem) Chartier is a Métis Canadian lawyer and leader. He served as President of the World Council of Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) between 1984–87 and vice-president between 1993 and 1997.

He was president of Métis Nation - Saskatchewan from 1998 to 2003 and he was president of Canada's Métis National Council from 2003 to 2021.

As you can see on the paper he wrote for this Symposium, accessible above next to his picture, he participated in the 1981 NGO Conference in Geneva with the World Council of Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) and in many other United Nations conferences and international forums.

As part of this project, he participated in the 2013 Symposium.

Clément (Clem) Chartier es un abogado y dirigente mestizo canadiense. Fue presidente del Consejo Mundial de los pueblos indígenas (CMPI) entre 1984 y 87 y vicepresidente entre 1993 y 1997.

Fue presidente de Nación mestiza - Saskatchewan de 1998 a 2003 y fue presidente del Consejo Nacional Métis de Canadá de 2003 a 2021.
